Player Code of Conduct Agreement

Participation in the Border States Elite League (BSEL) is a privilege. All players are expected to conduct themselves in a manner that reflects positively on the league, their teammates, officials, staff, and host facilities. By registering for and participating in BSEL, players agree to the following:

1. Respect & Sportsmanship

Players must:

Show respect toward teammates, opponents, coaches, officials, staff, and spectators.

Refrain from abusive language, gestures, or unsportsmanlike conduct on or off the ice.

Accept officials’ decisions without harassment or retaliation.


2. On-Ice Conduct

Fighting, intent to injure, or dangerous play beyond standard hockey penalties may result in supplemental discipline.

Suspensions or ejections may be issued at the league’s discretion in addition to in-game penalties.

Repeat offenders may face escalating discipline, including removal from the league without refund.


3. Off-Ice Conduct

Players are expected to represent the league professionally at all times, including:

League events, showcases, and team activities

Online and social media behavior related to the league

Conduct that brings disrepute to the league may result in discipline.


4. Substance Policy

Illegal drugs are strictly prohibited at all league activities.

Alcohol is not permitted at league events or facilities unless expressly allowed by the venue.

Players may not participate while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.


5. Eligibility & Honesty

Players must provide accurate personal, age, and eligibility information during registration.

Any falsification of information may result in immediate removal from the league.


6. Safety & Equipment

Players must wear all required protective equipment during games and practices.

Players agree to follow all safety guidelines set by the league and host facilities.


7. Discipline Authority

BSEL reserves the right to impose disciplinary action for violations of this Code of Conduct.

Disciplinary actions may include warnings, suspensions, or removal from the league.

All disciplinary decisions made by league officials are final.


8. No Refund Policy Related to Discipline

Players removed from the league for conduct violations forfeit any remaining fees, including registration deposits or balances paid.


9. Acknowledgment

By registering for the Border States Elite League, the player acknowledges that they have read, understand, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct.
